The interaction of the gas-dust cometary atmospheres with the dusty particles of zodiacal light is discussed. A meteor-like mechanism connected with cometary molecule - zodiacal dust grain impacts, and an explosion-type mechanism due to collisions of cometary and zodiacal dust particles are described. The meteor-like mechanism may produce mainly metallic atoms while the explosion-type mechanism may give multicharged ions of multielectron atoms, atoms of colliding grains, and X-ray radiation. For Halley type comets with the dust-to-gas production rate ratio greater than 0.1, the explosion-type mechanism is the main one.
