A review is made of recent numerical calculations of collisions between interstellar clouds. The numerical method is described, and some of the basic results are highlighted. Emphasis is placed on the conditions necessary to induce gravitational instability, although the wider applications of the results to the structure and appearance of the interstellar medium are also discussed briefly. A recent confrontation between theory and observation is given.
