The present investigation of SN hydrodynamic models relevant to the outburst of SN 1987A in the LMC indicate that when the blue supergiant Sanduleak -69 deg 202 exploded, its central region had a structure of the dense core and its outer layers had a profile resembling an n = 3 polytrope. It is established that a lack of H in the core of heavy elements is impossible. The smoothness of the bolometric lightcurve is therefore direct evidence for a mixing in the ejected envelope interior.
