The parameters of long-period waves in the mesosphere are studied on the basis of OH-emission intensity variations. A predominant westward propagation of the waves is observed. The mean phase velocity in the westward direction is much lower than that in the eastward direction, and the oscillation period depends on the propagation direction. This velocity and period distribution might be a consequence of the filtering of the background wind in the middle atmosphere and the wind-induced Doppler shift of the wave frequency at the altitude of OH emission.
