Correlations between various characteristics of the OH emission of the night sky during the appearance of internal gravity waves (IGWs) are examined. In order to detect OH-emission variations due to IGWs, quiet geomagnetic time intervals with Kp not greater than about 4 are examined at least two days after the end of the geomagnetic disturbance. For low geomagnetic activity an appreciable heating of the upper atmosphere is observed in the region of the appearance of OH emission during IGW generation; the intensity of this heating rises with wave period.
