The second solar spectrum resulting from coherent scattering is an important tool for the diagnostics of turbulent magnetic fields on the Sun. Molecular scattering plays an important role in forming this spectrum, and even dominates in some spectral regions. We present a theory that allows us to calculate the Mueller matrix for coherent scattering from diatomic molecules in Hund's intermediate coupling case (a-b) for arbitrary molecular transitions. We performed the calculation of the molecular Hanle effect in the Paschen-Back regime. We found significant differences from the Zeeman regime, and as an example we discuss here, both qualitatively and quantitatively, the effects on observed polarization signals for the CN violet system.
