The complication presented by the fact that, from the mathematical point of view, the Chandrasekhar and Kendall (1957) method does not lead to a factorizable Helmholtz-type equation in toroidal coordinates, is addressed for the case of force-free fields in a three-dimensional plasma torus. An appropriate analytical solution to the torus is presented. The solution is of interest in both the realization of nuclear-fusion devices and the study of Jupiter's Io torus.
