WISE is an Earth-orbiting NASA mission that surveyed the entire sky simultaneously at wavelengths of 3.4, 4.6, 12, and 22um, hereafter referred to as bands W1, W2, W3, and W4, respectively. WISE launched on 2009 December 14 and, after an in-orbit checkout, began surveying the sky on 2010 January 14.
