A temperature profile in 1.3 mm radiation with about 300 km resolution
at the sun was obtained during the total eclipse of 1991. The
observations indicate that spicules reach a temperature of 8000 K at
3000-4000 km above the photosphere. This temperature is lower than those
of many spicule models.
