Results are reported for an experimental investigation of the spatial-orientation dependence of ferrite magnetization arising upon application of an electric field. In the experiments, a quantum superconducting interferometer was used to measure certain effects due to the galactic gravitational field that would arise if the equivalence principle were violated for specific cross components of the metric tensor or if earth were not freely falling in the galactic field (i.e., if earth's acceleration were not governed only by gravity). No such effects were detected, which is in complete agreement with the equivalence principle and indicates with an accuracy no worse than 0.001 that earth's motion in the galactic field is governed by purely gravitational forces.
