Instrumentation for recording 25 - 80 MeV muons is described, where an 8x8 sq cm cylindrical crystal is used as the detector. The geometric factor is calculated for various energy muons and for particles not stopped in the detector. The average geometric factor for muons with energies below 55 MeV is 0.025 sq m sr and vanishes for muons with energies above 80 MeV. Measurements were also taken at a height of 28 km and latitude of 67.5 deg. The problem of calculating the contribution of spurious coincidences to the total amount of muons recorded is discussed. It is determined that the flux of 30 MeV muons is 0.05 + or - 0.04/(sq m s sr MeV) and increases up to 0.25 + or - 0.12/(sq m s sr MeV) at 70 MeV.
