Numerical analysis of the dispersion relations of waves, propagating perpendicular to the magnetic field in a plasma typical of the plasmapause region, shows that the resonance conditions for coalescence of upper hybrid waves with high harmonic ion Bernstein waves into electromagnetic radiation can be satisfied. The power radiated by this process is calculated and predictions are made about the direction, polarization, and frequency spectrum of the emitted waves.
