From his discussion of the deformation of space by massive stars, Einstein found for the spectrum of our sun the right EGR value of 2 10-6, equal to a Doppler shift in a runaway motion with a speed of 0.6 km/s. In 1929, Hubble and Humason found that HHR values in spectra of galaxies are proportional to distance and equal to Doppler shifts in a runaway speed of 100 km/s per megaparsec (Mpc) distance. This is a billion times smaller than the 0.6 km/s per astronomical unit (ua), found for sun. Hence, if all celestial objects, located along the path of light from a galaxy would create, per ua, a billionth of the gravitational distortion, created by the sun, then this would already be sufficient to consider the HHR as due to EGR. ^1 In accordance with the Hubble-Humason Law of proportionality of galaxial redshifts to distance, EGR increases with distance, because the number of gravitationally distorted regions of space increases with distance crossed by light. The HHR values depend also on the direction to a galaxy. Accordingly, EGR values depend on the direction to a galaxy, because the concentration of distorted regions of space differs in different directions. 1.
