This study aims to introduce dynamic scaling and related freezing criterion for alkali metals. The criterion that the ratio of the long-time diffusion and short-time diffusion coefficient has a universal value of DSL/D0 ~ 0.1 and it is related to the height of the principal peak of the static structure factor S(km) along the freezing line proposed for colloidal liquids and two and three dimensional liquids has been tested for alkali metals. The static structure factor of liquids is obtained by using Ashcroft potential within the Variational Modified Hypernetted Chain (VHMNC) theory of liquids. The theoretical model used for the description of the dynamic properties starting from the known static structure factor, involves a self-consistent formalism along with mode-coupling theory.
