Meteoroids: Heating
Scientific paper
Theoretical description of radiative heating of porous meteroids is considered. A capillary model of the porous body is used for simultaneous solution of the problems of heat transport by radiation and thermal conductivity. The calculation results are compared with the approximation of a surface heat source on a continuous body. It is shown that porous meteroids accumulate radiative energy to a greater degree than do continuous bodies, while with increase in porosity the fraction of energy used in heating and destruction of the meteroid increases.
