The reason for the appearance of two distinct bands in the photoemission of
the single CuO$_2$ plane Bi$_2$Sr$_{2-x}$La$_x$CuO$_{6+\delta}$ near the Fermi
level is discussed on the basis of the self-consistent solution of the
two-dimensional t-J model.
