The use of three spherical rocket-borne sensors to determine electrical characteristics of the atmosphere below 80 km is studied. The three independent sensors which determine the concentration, conductivity, and charge volume of atmospheric ions are described. The advantage of the spherical sensors is that readings are angle-independent. Data obtained during a flight December 8, 1976 over the midlatitudes of the USSR are considered. The data obtained in this way can indicate the limit height of aspiration-type meters as well as reveal the concentration and mobility of particles.
