Ultraviolet (200-400 nm) reflectance spectra of major rock-forming
minerals (e.g., olivine, pyroxene, plagioclase feldspar, ilmenite)
exhibit measurable differences in their spectral properties. This
suggests that these minerals can be discriminated in the UV.
