This article deals with the problem of the seismicity of the Urals region taking into account peculiarities of the deep structure ascertained by deep seismic investigations along profiles with a general extent of about 10 000 km. The scheme of seismotectonic zoning of the Urals and the adjacent territories was compiled on the basis of data generalization on the seismicity and some determined regularities of the earthquake epicentres distribution and peculiarities of the Earth's crustal structure. The extent of the Middle Urals region with abnormal seismicity was determined. Three regions of abnormal seismicity were determined additionally: the Polar-Urals, the Prevolga, the Tyumen-Ishym regions. Within these regions the seismogenic zones were marked.
