The results of a statistical survey and of detailed analyses of dayside chorus emissions from the Polar spacecraft will be discussed. All of the available Polar plasma wave data (4/1/1996 to 9/7/1997) are used for the solar cycle declining phase statistical survey. Only the 0900 to 1500 local time range has been considered to focus on this least understood dayside region of chorus-space. Chorus dependence on solar wind parameters and geomagnetic activity will be discussed. Detailed wave properties are obtained from the high resolution waveform data for specific time intervals. In particular single wave cycles are analyzed to obtain detailed wave information. The wave direction of propagation relative to B0, θkB0, the intensity, and polarization will be shown. The study has led to some interesting new results. We will discuss the sources of downgoing and upgoing chorus, the properties of chorus turbulence at substantial distances from the source region, and the possibility that plasmaspheric hiss is of chorus origin. New properties of plasmaspheric magnetosonic waves will also be discussed. Our results will be compared with existing ray tracing models. This multiyear survey has been done to provide modelers the necessary chorus information to carry out wave-particle interaction investigations in the dayside.
