An attempt is made to find a correlation between seismic D-waves responsible for earthquakes of a certain magnitude and the nonuniformity of earth rotation. The procedure used is to determine whether the position of T sub i, the time of occurrence of the i-th earthquake, coincides with one of the minima of the earth's rotation velocity. A coincidence would signify that the i-th earthquake occurs at the moment of the passage of one of the D-waves, induced at the pole by nonuniformity of earth rotation, through the epicenter. The analysis is based on data on the nonuniformity of earth rotation for the period 1815-1967. The example of earthquakes in the Arctic (1904-1975) tends to confirm the correlation.
