We present a model of coherent cyclotron maser radiation directly connected to the process of particle acceleration in the auroral zones of magnetized planets. Three-dimensional simulations of energetic electrons propagating into higher magnetic field regions of the auroral plasmas for the different planets will be presented. Comparison of the simulations of beam-generated maser emission will be made with detailed observations from the satellites FAST and Cluster. The radiation from downward propagating electron beams is more likely to be the source of auroral radio emission than the loss-cone model of radio emission.
