The hybrid model examined here includes a correction unit in which approximate analytical expressions are used to provide improved determinations of the input aerodynamic parameters of the theoretical part of the model. The results of the theoretical solution should coincide with reference values of the experimental profile to which are referred electron densities in the maxima of the E, F1, and F2 layers, and the F2-layer height maximum obtained from statistical models of these layers. Results are presented which demonstrate that the proposed correction method is physically valid.
