We present Cluster four-point magnetic field measurements of structures within the quasi-parallel terrestrial bow shock. We compare the scales and derived orientations of SLAMS-like magnetic field enhancements and steepened ULF shocklets using multi-spacecraft and single spacecraft methods. We demonstrate that the ULF waves are of larger scale than the magnetic field enhancements, but that both types of structure have varying orientations across a single structure, and between adjacent structures, indicating that they are not planar on the scale of the spacecraft tetrahedron ( ~ 400-1000 km). Although significant differences in the magnetic field magnitude are observed between spacecraft, we sometimes observe more similar signatures in the angular signature, consistent with the spacecraft making different trajectories through the structure. Systematic deviations between the orientations of the magnetic field enhancements and a model bow shock normal might arise from different degrees of deceleration and deflection of the surrounding solar wind plasma, although contributions might also arise from curvature of the structure on tetrahedron scales. We compare the Cluster observations of the structures with expectations from previous observations and simulations.
