Data provided by the Cluster Ion Spectrometry (CIS) instruments are used to survey recent CLUSTER crossings of the plasmasphere. CIS is capable of obtaining full three-dimensional ion distributions (about 0 to 40 keV/q) with good time resolution (one spacecraft spin) and with mass-per-charge composition determination. The use of the CIS Retarding Potential Analyzer (RPA) allows more accurate measurements in the 0 - 25 eV/q energy range, covering the plasmasphere. The density profile will be studied for each of the main ion species (H+, He+, O+), and the structure of the plasmasphere will be analyzed using multi-spacecraft measurements. Detached plasmasphere events, that are observed by CIS during some of the passes, will be also presented.
