Starting from discretization rules analogous to those of Bohr and Sommerfeld, values for a few mechanical quantities associated to celestial periodic motions are obtained. A gravitational dimensionless structure constant αg can be singled out, whose value, determined from data relative to the solar system, allows us to quantitatively account for phenomena on a much wider scale.
