A theoretical method is developed that makes it possible to simplify the application of exospheric models of the magnetosphere that take into account the collisionless character of the plasma and the presence of longitudinal electrostatic fields. The basic assumptions and mathematical foundations of this approach are described, and its application to certain complex magnetospheric problems is considered.
