In a discussion of the basic operations of Venera 9 and 10, the paper considers the flight plans of the spacecraft, with attention given to aiming, preplanetary maneuvers, and the prediction of interplanetary trajectories. Also considered are the first and second trajectory corrections, the necessary conditions for carrying out the scientific experiments, and the operational selection of the control and guidance parameters at the deceleration stage near the target planet.
