Earth Atmosphere: Turbulence, Wavefront Sensors

Scientific paper

A compact instrument based on Hartmann-Shack wavefront sensing is built to measure the atmospheric turbulence parameters. The Fried diameter r0 is deduced from wavefront data by using the angle-of-arrival statistic based both on image motion of single subaperture and on differential image motion between every pairs of subapertures. Some test results with different pupil characteristics are given. The spectral density of wavefront slope is also shown in this paper.
