Spatially-resolved spectroscopic results of the H-alpha and forbidden N II, O III, and S II emission lines in the WR ring nebula RCW 58 are presented. The wind-blown nebula contains a shell which is expanding at 87 + or - 3 km/s from the central star and is enveloping slower moving clumps of stellar ejecta. An upper bound for the shell age of 30,000 yr is obtained. The results indicate that supersonic turbulence is present in the shell, and that the clump masses are flattened. From the velocities, abundances, and dust content of the clumps, it is suggested that the progenitor of the central WN8 star HD 96548 was a red supergiant.
