A model of bremsstrahlung emission in hot winds is proposed which holds that if such winds, presumably produced by galactic nuclei and quasars, are allowed to be optically thick to electron scattering, they can emit sufficient bremsstrahlung to be detected in the X-ray part of the spectrum. It is anticipated that only those winds arising from objects whose infrared or radio emission is significant are likely to affect the observed X-ray continuum. The model predicts a steepening of the continuum beyond 60 keV for 0241+622.
