The paper considers the problem of developing an algorithm for autonomous navigation during the entry of a spacecraft into the Martian atmosphere. An analysis is conducted regarding the effect of inaccurate information about atmospheric-entry conditions and spacecraft characteristics on the precision of adaptive control over the final descent velocity. The main parameters subject to adjustment aboard the spacecraft during the descent stage are identified, and a simple algorithm is proposed for determining their values.
