Results are presented on a frequency domain interferometry study of the frequency coherence of stratospheric and tropospheric echoes, made with a Chung-Li VHF radar, which operates in four discrete frequencies and three different frequency separations. The results show that the coherence of echo signals decreases with the frequency spacing, with the roll-off ranging from -0.2/MHz to -1.2/MHz, depending on the atmospheric structure.
