The magnitude of electrostatic cross-shock potential is a key parameter of the collisionless shock. The use of multi-point measurements enable the separation of spatial and temporal effects within the transition layer, and estimate of the potential using electric field measurements. A statistical study of the observed magnitude cross shock potential versus shock parameters is performed. The repercussions on the electron dynamics are analysed.
