Observations of 62 MS, S and C stars were made to investigate the variation of Li abundance with other compositional parameters. For each star, a high dispersion image tube spectrogram was taken and a low dispersion plate was obtained for classification purposes. The S stars were divided into five C/O classes on the basis of the relative strengths of TiO, YO and ZrO. The high dispersion plates were visually examined and estimates of line ratios were used to derive Li/Ca and Zr/Ti abundance indices by comparing the observations with published abundance determinations. Implications of the relationship between Li/Ca, Zr/Ti and C/O are discussed.
