We are currently in the process of constructing a 12.5" Newtonian reflector telescope with a motorized german equitorial mount, a CCD camera and a filter wheel. Design and construction of this telescope is the "Senior Design" project of six undergraduates who are constrained by a limited budget. This project is versatile in that it encompasses a broad range of topics such as electronics, optics, apparatus design and machining.
