Scientific paper

A photopolarimeter suitable for astronomical work in the 5-20 micron
region is described. The 'visibility' of the instrument at the focus of
a telescope is evaluated and preliminary results are given, relative to
observations carried out at the Coude focus of the 193-cm telescope of
the Observatoire de Haute Provence.
