An algorithm previously proposed by Remenets et al. (1982, 1985) has been modified to study the temporal behavior of the effective height of the earth-ionosphere waveguide channel as well as the reflection coefficient of an ionospheric ray as a function of the angle of incidence on the ionosphere for the PCA event on Feb. 16, 1984, and a single auroral disturbance. The dynamics of the reflection properties of the ionosphere is investigated on the basis of VLF (10-14 kHz) data.
