The method proposed can be used to decelerate the rotation about the center of mass of a vehicle with a gravity-graded attitude stabilization system. Deceleration is achieved by ejecting weights, connected by a flexible cord to the vehicle, in a direction radial to the center of mass. When the cord has extended to its entire length, the moment of the tension force will separate the cord from the vehicle. Using this technique, the angular velocity of a space vehicle can be decelerated to any required value without changing the mass of the weights and length of the cords.
