The orbital transfer problem is analyzed within the framework of Kuzmak's (1965, 1967) theory of multiple-impulse transfers between near almost-circular orbits without time limitations. The characteristic transfer velocity is minimized, treating the moments of impulse application and the number of impulses as the variable parameters, and assuming that the transfer time is fixed. The transfer from an elliptic orbit to a point; the one-impulse coplanar transfer from an elliptic orbit to a point; the transfer from an elliptic orbit to a point, using transverse impulses; and optimal transfers between elliptic orbits are studied. Analytical relations for the solution of these problems are derived.
