Quasars: Polarization, Quasars: Photometry

Analysis is given of UBVRI polarization and photometric observations of quasar 3C 345. One additional source of polarized radiation is shown to be responsible for the 1983 flare. It has variable flux but constant polarization parameters and spectral energy distribution. All its properties: high polarization (≍50%), independence of polarization parameters on wavelength and power law spectrum indicate its synchrotron nature.
