The warm/hot plasma ionized by the central X-ray source in active galactic nuclei (AGN) became a hot topic since the new generation of X-ray satellites (Chandra, XMM-Newton) came into use. Great amount of absorption and emission lines originating from the warm absorber/emitter is seen in about 90% of AGN. We focus our attention onto physical conditions of the warm absorber in Seyfert 1 galaxies. We compare the results of various approaches to the modeling of the warm absorber and make a list of issues to be solved.
