The horizontal branch (evolved, helium-core burning) stars have been valuable kinematic tracer probes of the halo field of our Galaxy. Despite widespread use, there exists only a few horizontal branch stars for which a detailed study of chemical composition has been completed. Increasing this number of stars can greatly help to identify abundance anomalies in the population, and add to the available abundance standards. Currently, we have high-resolution spectroscopy of fifteen program horizontal branch stars and nine standard stars for which we are determining chemical abundance. We will present our analysis technique along with preliminary elemental abundances for several of the standard stars. This analysis will include the abundance of Fe, and the α-elements of Ca and Mg. We will also discuss the possibility of abundance anomalies due to photospheric diffusion and the importance of increasing the sample size of horizontal branch standards.
