Photon-dominated regions (PDR's) are surface layers of interstellar molecular clouds exposed to intense fluxes of far-ultraviolet photons. We will show the results of applying our time-dependent PDR code to the study of several problems: the formation of long carbon chains in dense PDR's, the HCO+/HOC+/CO+ abundance ratio, and the abundance of N2 in diffuse clouds.
