Searching for gravitational waves with laser-interferometer detectors requires a highly accurate knowledge of the gravitational wave forms in order to construct search templates with which to cross correlate the noisy detectors' output. In this spirit, we derive here an analytic approximate formula describing the precession of an inspiraling compact binary with equal masses and equal spins, where both the spin-orbit and the spin-spin couplings are taken into account.
