A theoretical model is constructed of the electron concentration
Ne of the mid-latitude ionosphere of the F2 region
and the outer ionosphere to altitudes of ≡500 km. The results of
the Vertikal-4 rocket experiment to measure Ne, the electron
temperature Te are used to check the scheme.
