The properties of liquid helium are examined, and the possibility of using superfluidity theory to explain some of the characteristics of neutron stars is discussed, with particular attention given to a laboratory model of a pulsar. Also considered are techniques for achieving ultralow temperatures, the superfluid phases of He-3, and a Soviet-Finnish facility (ROTA MINILAB) for investigating the properties of superfluid He-3.
