A new type of gravitational instanton which can be interpreted as leading to the creation of expanding closed universes is described. Its existence opens up a possibility of the self-creation of a system of expanding universes. In such a system, a recent idea of the dynamical determination of the values of coupling constants might be implementable in a most natural way.
