we propose to measure the chromospheric transition Mg II in four red giant stars in globular clusters to define the radiative energy low and structure of the chromosphere in a population of known ages and specific metallicities. Simultaneous high resolution spectroscopy at H-alpha can reveal signatures of mass flow for correlation with chromospheric emission levels.
