Scientific paper

The present conference on state-of-the-art IR sensor system technologies discusses a near-IR polarizing glass, a resonant-cavity electrooptic frequency modulator for heterodyne evaluation of Hg CdTe detectors at 2.0 GHz, InSb IR staring imaging devices, cooled-avalanche photodiodes for photon detection, the potential of optical systems for strategic defense, hexagonal IR sensor pixels, arrays, and sampling methods, parsimonious sampling for scanning mosaic sensors, IR search-and-track signal processing concepts, and clutter rejection in the presence of jitter with imaging sensors. Also discussed are recent progress in Schottky-barrier IR imagers, IR imaging sensors for long-range target recognition, a long range IR surveillance system, automatic target recognizer (ATR) database requirements and system applications, AI for ATR, U.S. Navy and Air Force perspectives on ATR, and covert penetration systems.
